Calculation of trigonometric functions :
Sine = Length of Opposite/Length of Hypotenuse
Cosine = Length of Adjacent/Length Hypotenuse
Tangent = Length of Opposite/Length of Adjacent

In any
right angled triangle trigonometric functions are used to relate
the length of the sides to the angles of the triangle. The sine, cosine,
tangent are the most used trigonometric functions.
For example : If you know the length of the hypotenuse (h) is 40 cm and the
length of the opposite side (a) is 20 cm, then the sine of the angle A is 20 /
40 = 0.5, since sin30 = 0.5. Angle A is 30 degrees.
or, if you know the length of the hypotenuse (h) is 40 cm and the angle A is 30
degrees, you can calculate the length of the opposite side (a). Since sine30
degrees is 0.5, 0.5 = length of opposite side / 40 = 20 cm
